The Pacific School System in 1927

teacher.
The faculty for 1927-28 consisted of Walter T. Leezy,
Superintendent; Elam Watson, High School Principal; Wilma Mason, High School
Assistant; Ruth Engler, High School Assistant; Ernest Masters, Grammar
School Principal; Milton Bollman, who taught Sixth Grade and part of Fifth
Grade; Anna Maguire, who taught Fourth Grade and part of Fifth Grade; Elda
Zitzman, who taught Second and Third Grades; Lenora Koch, Primary School
teacher, and B. F. Harrington, who taught the "colored" school.
The Pacific High School was a first class, fully
accredited high school. All members of the high school faculty had college
degrees. The grade school teachers all had at least two years of college.
Books were provided free to elementary students. High
school students bought their books at the superintendent's office. The high
school curriculum included English, history and social sciences,
mathematics, science, commerce, music, physical education, and possibly,
foreign language.
