FCHS now owns the former Ebenezer Methodist Church in Berger and is using the building as their headquarters. Meetings will continue to be held throughout the county.

Franklin County History Fair

The Eighth Annual Franklin County History Fair is held in November of each year on a Sunday afternoon at East Central College in the Regional Training Center (one-story building off to left) from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate in the 2009 History Fair is asked to contact Sue Blesi at 573-927-2772. The event features state and local historical societies, as well as artists and authors, whose works reflect something about Franklin County.

Local History Class

A local history course is offered at East Central College in March and April of each year. A variety of presenters are scheduled to tell different aspects of Franklin County history. An attempt is made to keep the course fresh by offering as much new material as possible each spring. The 2009 classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Regional Training Center (one-story building off to left). Coordinator is Sue Blesi. Call of the Hills, The -- By Rev. Marshall Benjamin Van Leer -- A novel based on actual people and events in the Spring Creek and Spring Bluff area around 1900. Some of the names may be fictional but others are identifiable.
