1889 Catawissa
area school

My mother has at some time written the
date of 1889 on the back. The picture is almost too faded to read any
writing on the front. I know that my ancestors resided in the Catawissa
area, so think this might be a school there? The girl in the third row from
the bottom, on the left (with what looks like an ink spot on her nose) is
Esther Glasnier. She would be a cousin somewhere in my line. I haven't done
too much research on this line. I know that Frederick Bowles, a teacher in
the community of Catawissa, had a daughter and a step daughter who both
married men named Glasnier. Some of them are buried at the St. Patrick's
Rock Church.
